In a set of recent videos posted by user @amagicaldisneyday on Instagram, it appears Disney might be in the process of testing a new, still unannounced drone show. The drones were spotted flying over Golden Oak Ranch in Santa Clarita, which is owned by Disney. Golden Oak Ranch is a “movie ranch” that includes over 890 acres of filming space often utilized by Disney and ABC Studios.

In the video clip, several drones are visible testing in the sky, forming shapes that would be easily recognizable to many Disney fans. Some examples include Mickey’s sorcerer hat, a manta ray in the style of Moana, and Captain Hook’s pirate ship from Peter Pan.

The user posted videos on two different nights, each featuring clips of different sections. The original post from “Night 1” also included a look at the Genie and the Agrabah palace from Aladdin.

Disney has not released any information at this time about any upcoming drone show projects. Disney has used drones for multiple shows in the past, including Disney Dreams That Soar at Disney Springs.

However, this is an extremely large amount of drones compared to the usual amount utilized in the parks on a routine basis. While it is purely speculation, it is also possible this test is for an upcoming promotional event rather than a new show that will be seen by park guests.
