The Disney Destiny cruise ship has begun its two-week transatlantic voyage to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Three Disney cruise crew and Minnie Mouse wave on deck; wind turbines and cranes behind, not a Disney castle like in the parks.

The new Disney Cruise Line ship was constructed by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. It had its first float out in August, then departed the shipyard for sea trials in September. Disney took ownership of the ship earlier this month during a delivery ceremony in Eemshaven, Netherlands.

The ship will now spend two weeks sailing over 5,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean to its homeport of Port Everglades. It will make one stop in Funchal, Portugal.

During the sailing, cast and crew onboard will prepare the Disney Destiny for guests. Its maiden voyage begins on November 20.
