The construction walls that block Animation Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios have now been adorned with signage, including concept art for the upcoming Magic of Disney Animation experience.
Animation Courtyard Construction Walls

Animation Courtyard was the area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios that included Star Wars Launch Bay and the theater for Disney Jr. Play and Dance! This whole section had its last day of operation on September 24, 2025.
There is still a small section of Disney’s Hollywood Studios that still uses the name Animation Courtyard, as seen on the updated park maps. However, the “courtyard” only includes Walt Disney Presents, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, and a few dining spots like the nearby Joffrey’s kiosk.

Construction walls were first wrapped around the closed half of Animation Courtyard, and later expanded all the way to the iconic arch that still stands near the entrance. Guests can still access The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, but they must walk around the walls to the side in order to reach the theater.

Star Wars: Launch Bay permanently closed and will become a new version of The Magic of Disney Animation, the opening day attraction that Star Wars: Launch Bay replaced. The updated building will have a Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat facade, just like the real Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California. The entire Animation Courtyard will be reimagined as part of this update. It will become “The Walt Disney Studios,” taking inspiration from other Burbank buildings.

In this most recent change, signs with concept art for the new area have been installed on several of the construction wall panels. The art is the same as what was previously released online by Disney, showing the new studio-inspired outdoor space, the poster for The Magic of Disney Animation, and a closer image of the updated Sorcerer Hat facade.
The larger images have the extra text, “More Magic Coming Soon.”

Interestingly, the poster on the walls is specifically the second version of the art, which was updated to include the Lost Boy character that was originally portrayed by the late actor Robin Williams in The Magic of Disney Animation short film, Back to Neverland.

The first visible demolition project in Animation Courtyard began on October 11, as the awning near the entrance for the Disney Jr. theater was destroyed. Check out our last look at Animation Courtyard and Star Wars: Launch Bay.
