We tried two breakfast entrees at Magic Kingdom’s Golden Oak Outpost, but did we strike gold with them?

Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit – $10.49
with Egg, Strawberry-Jalapeño Jam, and Pepper Jack served with Potato Barrels

The Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit is a great breakfast option that is full of flavor. The strawberry jalapeño jam and pepper jack cheese combination really elevates the sandwich, which is otherwise quite plain.

It is a bit spicier than regular Disney spice, so that is something to keep in mind. We think this would be a nice breakfast sandwich for adults, but children may not like this as much.
The egg is a standard premade egg found in several restaurants at Disney World, and the chicken was fine as well, with a crunchy fried exterior. Both were standard but good.

The only complaint we have is that the sandwich is quite messy with the jam. Pretty soon after we received the sandwich, the bottom biscuit also started falling apart.
Potato Barrels come as a side and tasted like typical Potato Barrels that are on property.

Banana-Caramel Beignets – $8.79
Light, Sweet, and Fluffy Beignets with Powdered Sugar, Bananas, and Caramel Sauce

The Banana-Caramel Beignets are just as described – light, sweet, and fluffy. There are three beignets served with this entree. Banana and caramel are not exactly a unique flavor combination, but they do work well together on the beignets.
We do think this entree is too sweet with all the sugar that comes with it. Our reporter shares that she has a major sweet tooth, but even she found it overwhelming.

It also has a really strong banana taste, so if you don’t like bananas, these are not for you. However, if you love caramel and bananas, this will hit the spot.
