Crews have begun demolishing the former Animation Courtyard, with destruction now visible from within the park.

The work is currently focused on the theater where Disney Jr. Play and Dance! was performed. At the time of its closure, a temporary “Get Animated!” dance party had taken over as part of Cool Kid Summer. The space was used for similar shows, such as Disney Junior Live on Stage, since 1998. However, it was originally the Soundstage Restaurant.

The awning being destroyed was on the building’s exterior and provided space for guests to meet characters from the show, as pictured below.

The last day for the old version of Animation Courtyard was September 24, 2025. The courtyard will be reimagined into a Walt Disney Studios-inspired area. Star Wars: Launch Bay permanently closed and will become a new version of The Magic of Disney Animation, the opening day attraction that Star Wars: Launch Bay replaced.
