Every October, Salt & Straw brings us a lineup of spooky favorite flavors. Did they bewitch our taste buds or trick our tongue? Here’s our review!
Salt & Straw Halloween Series
The Great Candycopia
A trick-or-treater’s bag of chocolate candies dumped into our salted butterscotch ice cream.

This is one of our favorite scoops at Salt & Straw. With every bite, you get a taste of all the chocolate candies mixed in: housemade Kit Kats, Snickers, Reese’s, and Heath.

The salted butterscotch ice cream gives us Butterbeer vibes; it’s sweet and creamy, but not overpowering, and complements the candies perfectly.

Jack o’ Lantern Pumpkin Bread
A secret family spell of pumpkin bread hunks folded into pumpkin spiced ice cream streaked with cream cheese frosting.

This ice cream takes pumpkin spice to the max! The delicious pumpkin ice cream is accented with hunks of moist, flavorful pumpkin bread throughout.

The cream cheese swirl adds the perfect touch of light sweetness to the overall creamy, spicy experience.

Double Bubble Toil and Trouble (Vegan)
A blend of pineapple, banana and pear in coconut cream, spiced with cinnamon and vanilla, for a just-like-bubble-gum flavor.

The fruits and spices meld together into a spot-on bubble gum flavor, through and through. The coconut cream gives it a sherbet-like consistency, but it’s still nice and creamy.

Fair warning, this scoop is very sweet! Bubble gum fans and kids will be sure to love this.

Creepy Crawly Critters
A swarm of edible candy-coated critters scattered throughout our sweet green matcha ice cream.

An annual favorite, Creepy Crawly Critters brings the crunch thanks to real chocolate-coated crickets and toffee-brittle mealworms scattered throughout.

Don’t be squeamish, though: they taste just like candy, especially when paired with the grassy, nutty matcha ice cream.

Final Verdict

We would eat The Great Candycopia year-round if we could, but the Jack o’ Lantern Pumpkin Bread comes in a close second, especially if you love pumpkin spice flavors. Double Bubble Toil and Trouble isn’t our favorite vegan scoop from Salt & Straw, but it is still a tasty choice, and Creepy Crawly Critters continues to be an entertainingly edible offering year after year.
Location

You can find these flavors at all Salt & Straw locations, including Disney Springs and Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort. Pricing for the flavors is the same as most other ice cream, where it depends on the number of scoops and what you would like your ice cream served in.
