The year-plus refurbishment of Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Walt Disney World is continuing apace. Come with us as we check out the renovated main lobby and Community Hall.
Bay Lake Tower Lobby

The refreshed lobby maintains the mid-century details of the resort but with a modern feel. The large front windows feature bold colorful rugs with an array of seating options.

The side tables and even some of the seats have outlets and USB charging ports conveniently built in.

Two small service desks flanking the entrance are staffed with Cast Members.

There’s a similar seating area at the back of the lobby as well.

Curved mid-century inspired chandeliers hang over each side of the lobby.

Community Hall

The Community Hall is the resort’s activity space for kids and hosts movies, crafts, and games. It also received a vibrant new look with an orange Mary Blair-inspired accent wall and green and orange furniture.

Cast Members are on hand to help with activities, including coloring, crafts, and pin trading.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Bay Lake Tower is located next to the original Contemporary Resort, along Bay Lake. It opened in the summer of 2009 and has 428 Disney Vacation Club villas. Disney began the hotel’s first refurbishment in late September 2024 with an original estimated completion date of September 2025.

While the renovated guest rooms were revealed in January 2025, Disney also announced in June that the refurbishment would be extended by a full year, through July 2026.
