A Central Florida woman previously sued Universal, claiming she was injured on Stardust Racers at Epic Universe. According to news outlets, Universal has already reached a settlement in the case, despite it only being reported earlier this week.
Stardust Racers Ride Lawsuit

According to WESH 2, 49-year-old Sandi Streets stated Stardust Racers at Epic Universe caused her head to shake violently and slam against the headrest. She alleged that Universal failed to properly restrain her head during her visit to the park on April 30, 2025. This date is prior to the official opening of Epic Universe on May 22 because she was an invited guest during previews.
As per WFTV 9, “The lawsuit says Streets has suffered disability, medical care expenses, loss of the ability to work and an exacerbation of a preexisting condition since going on the ride.”
Universal Settles

The law firm Spetsas-Buist filed the lawsuit on behalf of Streets and asked for a jury trial to decide how much Universal should compensate Streets for her alleged injuries. Also, according to WFTV 9, the complaint sought $50,000 from the incident.
According to records from Orange County, the lawsuit has now been settled just days after its initial filing. At this time, there is no word on exactly how much or what terms were agreed upon in the settlement, just that “The case was initiated on Wednesday, Sept. 24, but Orange County court records show Friday [sic] the case shows as Notice of Settlement and Voluntary Dismissal” per local news WKMG 6.
Stardust Racers Closed

Stardust Racers is currently not operating at Epic Universe due to a pending investigation into the death of 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, who died of “multiple blunt impact injuries” after riding the attraction. On the evening of September 17, Zavala was found unconscious at the end of the ride and had CPR performed on him in the park. He was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead shortly after 10 p.m.
Universal has released comments saying the ride system was functioning correctly, and Team Members followed all usual procedures. However, Orange County deputies are investigating the death under Florida’s manslaughter statute. Zavala’s family has hired famous civil rights attorney Ben Crump to represent them, but has not officially filed a suit against Universal.
