The Unlucky Nugget Saloon, a Phantom Manor-inspired restaurant overlay, is now open at Disneyland Paris for the 2025 Halloween season.
The Unlucky Nugget Saloon

As part of the annual Disney Halloween Festival, The Lucky Nugget Saloon in Frontierland has become The Unlucky Nugget Saloon, with tattered wedding decorations and Phantom Manor Easter eggs. The themed overlay will be open from October 1 through November 2, 2025.

On the restaurant’s facade, an addition to the sign makes it read “The Unlucky Nugget.” There are torn, dirty drapes and dead flowers along the edges of the roof and marquee.

A plaque by the door has “Un” added before “Lucky Nugget.” According to the lore, residents of Thunder Mesa added the “Un” signs to warn patrons about strange happenings at the saloon.

A poster outside seems to have been defaced with the addition of “Un” and various newspaper clippings. The titular Phantom of Phantom Manor is also pictured lurking on the saloon’s balcony.

One clipping reads:
Visitors to Thunder Mesa WARNED!
Local medium and fortune-teller, Madame Leota has warned inhabitants of Thunder Mesa and visiting foolish mortals that something dark is headed their way. When prompted, she remained mysterious as to how and where these occurrences would take place, but advised the townsfolk the month of Halloween could be a period conducive to such events unfolding.
Hand-written at the bottom is, “It’s happening!”
Another clipping reads:
The Lucky Nugget Saloon Still Open for Business!
Despite mysteriously falling into disrepair, the saloon remains open but warns patrons their dining experience may be slightly… spirited.
At the (Un)Lucky Nugget
it is therefore ‘business as usual’. When asked to comment, local sheriff Will Ketchum brushed aside—

Happily Ever After…
The talk around town is that a grand reception was to be held at The Lucky Nugget Saloon, in honor of the neighboring Ravenswoods and to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of their daughter. But as we all now know, fate decided otherwise.
…Or is it?
So, what exactly is happening at the saloon? Is it a trick of the mind, playful spooks or a curse? We suggest you visit in person, to make up your own mind.

One clipping features a picture of The Unlucky Nugget Saloon sign with, “What is happening at The Lucky Nugget Saloon?”

Is the Curse of the Ravenswoods Spreading?
In their quest to please the golden family of Thunder Mesa, did locals fly too close to the sun? Is the curse of the Ravenswood mansion now affecting other parts of town?

Town Council Announcement
Despite recent claims of strange sightings and mysterious occurrences at The Lucky Nugget Saloon.
There is no reason to give credence to these rumors. These may be considered, at this time, to be nothing more than the result of the EXCESSIVE IMAGINATION of RUMOR-MONGERING mischief-makers — undoubtedly created with the sole intention of planting a sense of disquiet amongst the honest folk of our friendly community.
HOWEVER, we urge anyone to REPORT ANYTHING AMISS BACK TO THE SHERIFF, without further delay. Denizens and visitors of Thunder Mesa may rest assured that any unnerving goings-on will be duly INVESTIGATED.

Inside, guests are greeted by a banner reading, “Welcome to our joyous celebration!” There are faded pink ribbons and dead garlands of flowers around the banner.

Blue atmospheric lightning illuminates the dining area and stage. More flowers and tattered drapes hang from the balcony. Cobwebs are on the light sconces. It took 256 hours of work to bring the space to life. 150 lights were changed.

The stage reflects previously released concept art with a piano and banquet table in front of white curtains. A wedding cake is on the table, in front of high-backed chairs. Garland is falling off the banquet table, which is covered in cobwebs. A small table to one side supports a portrait of the bride, Melanie Ravenswood. All the props are vintage or produced especially for the space.

The piano is draped with garlands. The photographs on top pay homage to past performers at the saloon. The sheet music on the piano is for The Wedding Dirge. The shadow of the Phantom will sometimes appear to play the piano.

Atop the cake is a figure of Phantom Manor. The cake took a cake sculptor 6 days to create completely by hand — including the Phantom Manor figure on top.
According to the story of Phantom Manor, Melanie was the daughter of Henry Ravenswood, founder of Thunder Mesa. He disapproved of her engagement to a train engineer and though he died before he could break up the wedding, he returned as the Phantom and killed Melanie’s groom-to-be. The bride still haunts the manor, waiting for her husband.

On the front of the cake is the initial “M” for Melanie. A second initial in the icing has been scratched away. In fact, as there are multiple dead fiancees in Melanie’s past, all references to the groom of this wedding are missing.

Menus on the stage read, “The Lucky Nugget Saloon is proud to celebrate the nuptials of Melanie Ravenswood—”

A banner hanging behind the banquet tower reads, “Happily Ever After!” The stained glass framing the stage, including The Lucky Nugget sign above, glows purple and blue.

We got to see the designs up close during a media preview. Each has the groom’s name missing, representing the four dead grooms depicted in Phantom Manor’s stretching room. The way the menu is damaged represents the groom’s death — wet for the one that went over a waterfall, ripped for the one killed in a bear attack, burnt for the one who exploded, and torn one for the one who died in a sawmill.

The groom’s chair is knocked over, representing his death.

A pile of presents on the floor in front of Melanie’s portrait includes a hatbox. The label reads, “All my best as you head off into your future H.B.G.” The initials stand for the Hatbox Ghost.

The portrait of Melanie periodically changes, revealing her gaunt face and the Phantom behind her.
