The Poltergeist House was the final haunted house announced for Halloween Horror Nights 2025 at Universal Studios Hollywood. The house is returning, having been part of the lineup for the event in 2018.

Universal describes the house as follows:

Restless spirits have overrun the infamous house atop a cemetery from the classic film, and they’re drawn to you. You’ll be lured up into the house by the TV’s glowing whisper and cross into another world. Enter a surreal landscape, where your sense of wonder will soon shift to horror as you’re menaced by the rage-fueled Beast. Don’t get lost in the light.

A child with long blonde hair touches a static-filled TV screen in a dimly lit room.

The house begins with one of the Freeling children being entranced by the light coming from the television.

Continuing the paranormal activity, one of the parapsychologists, Marty, suffers from hallucinations when he gets up to get a midnight snack.

In the scene, he begins to claw at his face, removing flesh to reveal bones below.

The Clown Doll and backyard tree attacking Robbie are also included references as guests walk through the house.

Even more ghouls and spooks surprise guests walking through the house, which was built upon land formerly home to a cemetery in story.

A sign reads "You are now leaving Cuesta Verde, we'll miss you!"—a nod to Poltergeist—against a dark background.

Upon exiting the house, guests pass a sign reading, “You are now leaving Cuesta Verde, we’ll miss you!” Cuesta Verde is the suburban setting of the film.
