Demolition of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit continues, with even more track removed from the Double Take loop and loading area.
Double Take Loop Demolition

In our last update, all that remained of the ride was the lift hill and one large loop. However, the large loop is being actively demolished as part of it is now gone. Pictured above is a before-and-after comparison.
The loop was called the Double Take, and it was the first non-inverted loop used on a coaster when the ride opened in 2009, which worked by having the track banking change throughout the loop to keep the riders upright.

You can’t really see the large loop from CityWalk, but you can see the lift hill, construction vehicles, a large crane, and a large hill of dirt.

The large loop can be easily viewed from inside the park at the Universal Music Plaza Stage and near the Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon attraction.

Team Members stand near the restrooms in New York, which are currently closed, to keep guests from entering the area.
Loading Area

The loading area also looks different from the last time we visited. Several steel columns are gone, as is the track where guests got on and off the coaster. However, the track that abruptly ends is still there.
The ride closed for good on August 18, 2025. Universal has not shared what will replace it.
