Exterior

Matching the 1900s Victorian theater description from Universal, the exterior of Pizza Moon is themed like a movie theater marquee. The sign hangs over the main entrance and has flashing lights that make the sign glow at night.

The main signage for Pizza Moon is a direct reference to the 1902 silent film “Le Voyage dans la Lune” or “A Trip to the Moon.” In place of the rocket that hits the moon’s eye in the film, the restaurant has replaced it with a slice of pizza. The tongue of the moon also slowly slides back and forth.

The sign has the added tagline “Cosmic Flavor.” All of the edges of the sign and the letters in the name are filled with marquee-style light bulbs that flash in various patterns.

On either side of the main entrance are multiple movie poster-style advertisements with a Victorian flair. This advertisement is hung in an ornate gold frame with swirled filigree.

Guests are told to “choose you own cheese adventure.” The established date for Pizza Moon is also stated to be “since the dawn of Chronos” in a fun nod to the lore of Celestial Park.

There is a roof structure that extends out from the entrance and over a small outdoor seating area.

Additional outdoor seating can be found on the sides of the restaurant, though these are not covered.

Most of the tables near the back of this side seating area have umbrellas to provide some shade.

Moving back to the entrance, there are a limited number of tables underneath the structure on either side of the doorway. Most of these are larger-sized tables for four or six people.

There are some railings to keep the tables seemingly separate from the walkway, as well as a taller wall near the planters.

Above this area is a gorgeous decorated ceiling with gold detailing over a deep blue background.

The ceiling also has some built-in lights that make it seem to sparkle like a night sky, especially after dark.
Interior

Once you enter the double doors, you face the main interior seating area. There is a half-wall facing you that has a mural of a pizza in space.

Behind the wall is a section of several tables, including several with bench seating against the walls.

Guests turn to the left to move over to the kitchen area, which is also where the Coke Freestyle machines are located.

There is another sign pointing guests to a mobile order area. The signs are all designed to look like a space-themed hand holding a slice of pizza.

Above the signs are some themed arches with flat-style clouds and golden starbursts.

All of the arches along the sides of this room are similarly themed with painted cloud flats and pizza iconography.

This walkway has brown tile flooring and several pizza-themed moon murals along the left side.

At the end of this walkway is an alcove with a condiment counter and Coke Freestyle machines.

Even the columns are painted blue and tan with detailed gold accents of the moon and stars.

While most Epic Universe quick-service restaurants use mobile ordering via a QR code at each table, there is an ordering area with the alcoholic beverage taps near the back.

Above this counter is the first of several moving flat pieces that is made in the style of a retro diorama. This one starts as a semicircle of pizza, but the slices slide open to reveal a figure behind them.

This character is known as the Pizza Moon Queen, and she wears an elegant dress made entirely of pizza toppings. Her long staff is modeled like a bronze pizza cutter.

Moving to the right side, there is an open kitchen area where the pizzas are made.

This area has the restaurant’s pizza oven, which is shaped like a giant crashed rocket. The rocket is red metal with orange and silver accents.

Above the rocket and along the sides of this wall is the second major section of dioramas.

On the right side is a woman wearing a dress and crown with slices of pizza. Next to her is a king character sitting on a semicircle throne. He appears to be receiving a pizza delivery thanks to a man holding a pizza-shaped flag to his left.

The left side has a woman holding a large bowl of pizza sauce, who appears to be pouring it out on the moon’s surface. Nearby is a man holding a tall staff speared with several whole pizzas. One more woman is standing in front of circular swirls of pizza toppings.

The lower half of this wall is modeled like large rocks, but said rocks are made of cheese blocks with yellow coloring and the occasional painted hole.

The pizza-themed moon murals continue on the opposite wall, with craters of tomato sauce beneath a starry sky.

The celestial decor has also been added to the ceiling, which is panted a deep blue with points of light. There are also some hanging lights shaped like stars throughout the space.

In the middle of the room is a hanging diorama with rings of spinning clouds and some flying characters.

The lighting on the ceiling occasionally changes, giving the diorama more of a blue tint.

The room is broken apart with multiple arches across the ceiling and more theming across each wall space.

Looking down the middle of the room, with all the moving dioramas, provides an amazingly detailed and dynamic scene for a quick-service restaurant.

On the right and left of a few of the arches are some characters swinging on mechanized pendulums that slowly move back and forth.

Some of these characters include a woman with a shrimp, a woman in green holding a pepper and some garlic, and a man wearing a flying contraption while holding a cheese grater.

Like the exterior areas, the inside seating has gray tables with magenta chairs.

All of the flats are layered with multiple levels and colors, giving them a sense of dimension even though they are “flat.”

Beyond this detailed main seating room, however, there are additional wings on either side of the restaurant toward the back.

The booth seating is decorated with more “rock” structures painted like cheese.

These additional seating areas near the back are less divided and take advantage of the floor to ceiling windows to provide lots of natural light.

Much of the theming for these back areas is very similar to the covered exterior seating area.

The windows are mostly rectangular, but there are some larger semicircle windows with lunar icons.

Like the roof outside, these sections have the blue painted ceiling with gold detailing and points of light.

Each corner has a semicircle booth table built against the windows.
Moving Artwork

One other fun detail of Pizza Moon are some moving “pictures” placed across the wall near the walkway.

These picture frames are gold and appear to almost be part of the mural background, but occasionally have moving characters appear inside them.

Many of these are the same characters seen in other areas of the restaurant, such as the flying man holding a cheese grater from the ceiling.

Other characters who appear inside the moving pictures include these elegant ladies juggling pizza toppings.
Coke Freestyle Machines

Five Coke Freestyle machines with the black and gold Celestial Park design sit in the alcove next to the cashiers, surrounded by a cheesy lunar landscape.

Animated constellations beckon you towards refreshment to accompany your piping hot pizza.

The full roster of Coke Freestyle flavors is on tap here, including the Epic Universe exclusive flavor Celestial Spritz. This flavor can only be found in Coke Freestyle machines in the Celestial Park area.

Celestial Spritz is available in both regular and Zero options and can be mixed with any other drinks. The special soda has a Seagram’s ginger ale base with orange and cherry flavors and a tart finish.
