The TRON Ares overlay has taken over TRON Lightcycle Run at Disney World. The new color scheme is even more noticeable at night, and we returned to grab a new nighttime POV video.
New TRON Ares Nighttime Overlay for Lightcycle Run
TRON: Ares Overlay

In preparation for the release of TRON Ares in theaters, TRON Lightcycle Run has a new overlay and soundtrack. For both attraction overlays, including the one in Magic Kingdom and the one in Shanghai, the ride now has red and orange light trails. These new colors replace the usual blue and orange hues of the ride, which include the canopy and Lightcycles.
Color Scheme

With the new color schemes, guests “weave through twisting tunnels of vibrant red and orange light trails, feeling the rush of wind and the surge of acceleration as riders compete in a dazzling Lightcycle race.”
The red and orange Lightcyle lights and canopy lighting are much more visible in the evening than during the day. Guests will see the new canopy lighting as they approach the attraction. The canopy doesn’t remain red all the time, and only occasionally changes to the full red color in place of the blue. However, the Lightcycles themselves are always red, and the shapes on the interior of the roof are now red to match as each vehicle goes by.
Nine Inch Nails TRON Soundtrack

In addition to new narration, Nine Inch Nails, who provide the score for TRON: Ares, have also taken over the attraction, with a new song playing during the ride.
The band released the first single for the film, As Alive As You Need Me to Be, on music streaming services earlier this summer. The soundtrack will be released on September 19.
