A special celebration ceremony was held at 8:30 a.m. this morning in honor of the 25th Anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom 25th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony
Walt Disney World Ambassadors Raevon Redding and Ali Manion opened the ceremony at the base of the Tree of Life in Discovery Island.
The Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe performed.
Sarah Riles, Vice President of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, took to the stage.
Characters including Pocahontas, Meeko, Minnie, Mickey, Daisy, Donald, Timon, and Rafiki joined in on the fun. Moana also joined the crowd on the stage in advance of her meet and greet’s debut later this morning.

- A first-ever Moana meet and greet at Discovery Landing.
- The 25th anniversary assortment of commemorative merchandise.

- Unique PhotoPass opportunities.
- A special Wilderness explorer badge available until April 23.

Join us for “Wild at 25: An Unauthorized Field Trip,” an event presented by WDWNT celebrating the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
