“Fall in ooo-la-la-love with haute cuisine and boissons from this Parisian pop-up!” is how Disney describes this outdoor kitchen, available during the 2023 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. We generally have good luck with the food available from the France pavilion, and with several new dishes to try for this year’s festival, we’re excited to dig in.

Croissant au Fromage de Chèvre, Herbes et ail Rôtie: Croissant with Goat Cheese, Herbs and Roasted Garlic – $6.75
This is just a croissant with cheese on top. It’s nothing special. It tasted like it had been out for a bit. The cheese had a bit of the herbs and garlic flavor profile. But ultimately, it was just okay.
*NEW* Daube de Boeuf à la Provençal, Compote de Tomate au Romarin Gnocchi à la Niçoise: Provençal-style Braised Beef, Rosemary Tomato and Niçoise Gnocchi – $7.55
The dominant flavor in this dish is tomato. Gnocchi is usually denser and holds together, but this breaks apart. It’s just a potato.
The beef is dry, chewy, and unpleasant. It needs more sauce around it but even still, it’s bad.
*NEW* Tarte Chocolat Mogador: Chocolate Tart with Valrhona Single Origin Chocolate Brownie, Walnuts and Raspberry Coulis (Served Warm) – $8.50
This looks like a cookie inside of a pie crust and it’s tough to cut into. It tastes like a dry chocolate cookie.
The glaze on top gives it a bit of moisture. It’s trying to achieve a French chocolate flavor but can’t get there.
Instead, it’s just a sandy cookie covered in raspberries.
Beignet Caramélisé, Fourré Crème Vanille, Glacé au Caramel Fleur de Sel: Caramelized Beignet filled with Vanilla Cream and Glazed with Caramel Fleur de Sel – $5.95
The cream inside is rich and sweet. The pastry is soft and doughy. The caramelized sugar adds a nice, sweet finish, making for a pleasant snack that can be shared. This is a good crème-filled doughnut, but if you want a real French pastry, just go into the pavilion for Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie.
Kronenbourg Blanc 1664 Draft Beer (5.0% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.
From Untappd: “1664 Blanc is an original wheat beer. It is a different, fresh and fruity white beer, slightly bitter with hints of citrus and coriander spices.”
VeRy Raspberry: Rosé Wine with Natural Raspberry Flavor ($9/bottle) – $6.00
From Luneau USA Inc., VeRy Raspberry has “as pale pink color as the raspberry pulp,” with an aroma that’s “subtle and round on the nose with persistent aromas of raspberry.” They add, “fresh and silky on the palate, this wine is the perfect balance between good acidity and the roundness of the raspberry.”
*NEW* Kir à la Poire: French Sparkling Wine with Monin Desert Pear ($13/bottle) – $9.00
La Vie en Rose Frozen Slushy: Vodka, Grey Goose L’Orange Vodka ($28/bottle), St. Germain Liqueur ($32/bottle), and White and Red Cranberry Juice – $14.50
France once again brings an alcoholic slushy to the Festival. This time it’s a very floral and fruity vodka concoction that’s a light pink color. It actually smells like a rose! The St. Germain Liqueur doesn’t overpower the cranberry and orange flavors, which makes for a well balanced cocktail. Recommended.
