A new walkway has opened up today in EPCOT between World Celebration and World Nature. Barrier walls still line the walkways, but construction on World Celebration continues to make progress.
New Walkway Open in EPCOT
We found a new walkway opened up to guests in EPCOT today at Walt Disney World. Check out our point-of-view videos going both directions along the new pathway.
The new walkway goes between World Nature, just across from The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and World Celebration by Spaceship Earth.

Project Tomorrow is on the left.
Construction walls line the walkway.
New landscaped areas and trees can now be seen.
Directional signs are shown on the construction walls to match the other areas of the park.
Going towards World Nature, landscaped greenery is on the left-hand side.

Monorail Lime zipped by, and we just had to snap a photo. It was refurbished last year.
Time to turn around and head back to Spaceship Earth!
Project Tomorrow and the fan-favorite Bubblegum Wall.
The newly-opened path is on the right. We can peek at Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” just over the construction walls.
Green construction equipment loom over the wall.
Pipework and Te Fiti’s symbol from “Moana” are clearly seen here.
Some decorative fabric and structural beams are visible through the trees.
Shade tarps with brown and tan artwork inspired by “Moana” can be seen here.
Workers are just beyond the foliage.
From the junction, the path heads back to Spaceship Earth.
The new walkway shows off some landscaped areas and gives us a better view of Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana.” It doesn’t lead to any other areas, though.
EPCOT Construction
Construction has been ongoing in the park since Disney announced a massive overhaul to EPCOT at the 2019 D23 summit. Original plans included a Play! Pavilion, a multi-story festival building, a themed area in World Showcase for “Mary Poppins” called Cherry Tree Lane, and multiple attractions including Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. While some of these plans have come to fruition or continue to make progress, including Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” and CommuniCore Hall, many of the other plans were cancelled or postponed during the COVID-19 budget cuts.
Previous CEO Bob Chapek claimed the “Mary Poppins” indoor attraction was one of “his favorite” plans, but as he has since been fired and replaced by former CEO Bob Iger, plans for the spinner ride remain a mystery for now.
