New string lights have been installed in a section of the Villain-Con Minion Blast queue at Universal Studios Florida. Villain-Con Minion Blast replaces Shrek 4-D and will be part of the Illumination Avenue land taking over what is currently called Production Central.
A section of the queue is visible between the Hello Kitty store and the Brown Derby Hat Shop.
The string lights criss-cross over the queue between supports with mounted fans.
A crew member in a cherry picker was working on securing lights to a support beam in the queue when we passed by.
The queue is also partially covered with a canopy and includes Villain-Con posters and banners.
New entrance signage was recently added to the front of Villain-Con Minion Blast. Next to the new attraction will be Minion Cafe, replacing Monsters Cafe. They are across from the pre-existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.
A Minion Cafe opened in early 2021 at Universal Studios Hollywood, and the Happiness Cafe at Universal Studios Japan serves Minion-themed food as part of the Minion Park area at the park. Minion Park is currently being cloned for Universal Studios Singapore with a 2024 projected open.
