Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval begins at Universal Orlando Resort this weekend and decorations have popped up throughout Universal Studios Florida.
Structures for parade lighting are wrapped in a fabric patterned with diamonds and fleurs-de-lis in purple, green, gold, and pink.
Boxes at the bottom feature sparkly fleurs-de-lis. These columns line the road next to Gramercy Park in the New York area.
Another lighting column is across from a Mardi Gras food booth, next to Minion Cafe construction walls.
Props and sets create unique photo ops in Gramercy Park.
A rocking chair is surrounded by musical instruments like drums, a trumpet, and a violin. A banjo sits in the chair and flowers are growing out of a saxophone.
A vintage radio is on a barrel next to the chair, with several old records.
Across the sidewalk is a whicker chair with animal portraits.
A stack of boxes features different mythical creatures, matching the new Mardi Gras merchandise.
It looks like a painter has been working here. There’s a palette on a small table next to brushes in a can. A painting of an alligator playing a lute is on an easel. Masks also hang from the easel.
A backdrop of red, green, and yellow fencing is behind a pink bench. The fence is decorated with birdhouses, while statues, flowers, and other props sit around the bench.
Lamp hats are back! Jester hats adorn the lampposts throughout Gramercy Park.
Round Mardi Gras signs hang from other lampposts in the New York section of the park.
King Gator banners hang from the ceiling inside the Universal Studios Store.
Near the Universal Studios Florida lagoon is this purple and white trellis adorned with vines and a wind chime. A white wicker chair sits in front of it, alongside peacock statues and flowers.
Universal’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval will begin on February 4th and will last until April 16th. Admission to the event is included in your theme park ticket, which means that offerings such as the parade, concert line-up, performers, and more are all included during your visit!
