The façade for the 2023 Mardi Gras Tribute Store is now in place at Universal Studios Florida. The store has moved from its New York location to the Hollywood area near the front of the park.
The entrance to the tribute store is at Studio Styles, which previously housed the UOAP lounge. The lounge is moving into the Betty Boop Store at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
It will use the space inside The Dark Room and Williams of Hollywood as well.
The sign frame has been erected over the building’s awning and reads “Tribute Store” in gold against the red background.
Banners on either side of the entrance give hint to part of the store’s theme. They read “Ambassador Ballroom” and “Live music nightly.”
Universal has described the theme as “This year’s Tribute Store theme invites guests to an international jazz celebration that leads to the traditional alleyways of New Orleans and ultimately into a speakeasy where the Mardi Gras celebration continues.”
Team Members will get an exclusive preview of the new tribute store on Thursday, February 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and will share access with Annual Passholders previewing the store from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. when the park closes. It seems likely that the Tribute Store will therefore open on February 3 to all guests, but nothing is set in stone until Universal announces such.
Mardi Gras kicks off on February 4 at Universal Studios Florida.
